Abbas Abdi (born in 1952) is a contemporary writer of novels and short stories for children and adolescents. Swimmer's novel as a moral-informative work was written for the first and middle school age group. The use of various narrative techniques by writers makes them successful in creating works that are useful in communicating with the audience. The reader is associated with the author in studying these stories and the use of these techniques as an indicator of the author's abilities. The present study aims to investigate and analyze the application of narrative types based on the structuralistic theory of Gérard Genette (time, aspect, or tone) in the Swimmer's novel. The methodology is a descriptive-analytical one and the findings indicate that Abbas Abdi has been able to use a variety of narrative techniques and also by reporting the events and incidents to obtain a lively, dynamic, and exciting story for the adolescents, and this method has enriched the novel.
