Abstract

Dialogue means conversation and talking to each other and exchange of thoughts and opinions. A conversation that is exchanged between two or more people, or occurs freely in the mind of a single character in a literary work. Dialogue is one of the important elements in the story, it expands the plot, shows the theme and introduces the characters and moves the action of the story forward. From this point of view, the dialogue is not static and its dynamism gives freshness and dynamism to the story. Boghor Alavi has used various mechanisms for dialogue in the collection of short stories of Hamdan. Components such as dialogue for preparation, rapid investigation of the character through dialogue, giving information or obtaining information, combination of dialogue and narration, creation of character through dialogue, creation of real dialogues, static and moving information, dialogue and changing the angle of view are the characteristics that are in the collection of Alavi's great stories. It is brought in the suitcase. The findings of this research, which analyzed the important element of dialogue in the collection of suitcase short stories by applying Leonard Bishop's theory, show that a significant number of components of this theory are present in this collection, the most frequent of which is character creation using dialogue.
