Abstract

Lucien Goldman (1913-1970) is the popular researcher in the field of sociological literary criticism especially sociology of novel. He taken up to relation between literary work with society, with following from Karl Marx’s theories; then he limited field of sociological researches own to sociological novel and used the new method and it called structuralism genetic. Goldman was following to make the meaning relation between literary form and the most important aspects of social life. In structuralism genetic was especial attending to historical aspects. Ahmad Mahmoud (1310-1381) is the writer from south of Iran. He is representative of social realism writer because of attending to realism life of worker and weak class. Hamsaye-ha (Neighbors) is the first novel of Mahmoud that is considerable as work’s social for attending to society life people. In this article, this novel considered with method of structuralism genetic according to sociological criticism. In conclusion we concluded that Hamsaye-ha (Neighbors) is a realistic work because of attending to problems of Iran’s society in twenty decade, for example, presence forces english in Iran, plundering oil, nationalization of the oil industry, and protest of workers and is applicable on this novel many of the elements of method of structuralism genetic.
